How to use HEIC to AVIF

  1. Add your HEIC photos

Drop .heic or .heif photos from your iPhone or iPad onto the page.

  2. Set the quality

Use the slider to balance file size and detail. The default suits most photos; raise it for prints, lower it for the smallest AVIF files.

  3. Convert and download

Click Convert, then save each image, or all of them at once as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Why not just use JPG?

AVIF photos are often half the size of JPGs that look the same, so pages load faster. Use JPG when an app or website doesn’t accept AVIF.

Why don’t my photos show a preview?

Most browsers can’t display HEIC, so we show the file type instead. The photos still convert normally.

Why does it take a while?

Both reading HEIC and creating AVIF run on your device, so expect a few seconds per photo.

Is the photo’s location removed?

Yes. The AVIF is a fresh image without the original’s camera details and GPS location.
