Frequently asked questions
How do I make a picture square without cropping?
Add the picture and click Make square. It’s placed in the middle of a square canvas and the space around it is filled with the background you choose, so nothing is cut off.
How do I post a full photo on Instagram without cropping?
Make it square here first, with a white or blurred background, then upload it. Instagram shows the whole photo. Choose 1080 px for the size Instagram uses.
What size should a square Amazon product photo be?
Amazon recommends at least 1000 px on the longest side, on a pure white background, with the product filling about 85% of the frame. Choose White, a margin of about 8% and an exact size of 2000 px. If your photo has a busy background, Remove background (which processes the photo on our server) has a square product photo option that does all of this for you.
Can I keep a transparent background?
Yes. Choose Transparent and the result is saved as a PNG with a see-through background.
What does the margin do?
It adds empty space around the image on every side, so it doesn’t touch the edges of the square.
Does it lower the quality?
With Original size and no margin, the image keeps its full resolution; JPG and WebP files are saved again at high quality. An exact size smaller than the photo scales it down; a bigger one enlarges it, which can look soft.
